Pet Grief and Loss Counselling

Service Description

The loss of a pet can be devastating. Although grief over the loss of a cherished pet may be as intense and even as lengthy as when a significant person in our life dies, our process of mourning is quite different. Many of the societal mechanisms of social and community support are absent when a pet dies. Kindred Pet Grief and Bereavement Therapy is a specialised service offering support through the process of pet grief, in whatever form it takes. This service extends to any concerns arising from the grief of our companion animals, this includes working through very difficult questions such as: -should I euthanize my pet if they are in pain? -how do I honor the memory of my companion animal? -And how do I support my children when a family pet dies? I offer a safe space to allow these questions to be asked and explored, and to allow grief to move forward in such a way as we can honor the relationship we have with our beloved companion animals.

Cancelation Policy

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. 24 hours notice (one business day) is required to reschedule or cancel your appointment without incurring fees. For any appointments rescheduled or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice (one business day), a $60 cancellation fee will be charged. For any missed appointments, your usual fee will be charged. Please note that any cancellation or missed appointment fees are not claimable via private insurance providers.
